Sorry for the delay!! It's been a manic time in our lives!
After the wedding, we spent the last night in our home before packing up and moving in with my mum. Perfect honeymoon eh? ;)...No we truly appreciated it else the hotel bill would have been enormous!!
It's been a tough time, Heidi and I, in fact, even Trudy (the dog) are very independent! I haven't lived with my mum for 5/6 years. I thought it would be a walk in the park, but I think it's been rather difficult for us all! We've been living out of boxes and suitcases in a house that isn't ours and after a long day at work, all we want to do is go home...I never realised how much I took that for granted!! And my poor mum, bless her, has given up not only her home but even her bed for us and is sleeping on the sofa!! However, it's nearly over, after living with her for over 4 weeks we are moving back in tomorrow, hopefully, while the builders do the finishing touches and they should be out within the next few days :D then we just have to move back in, unpack, and get ready for Woody's arrival....Sounds easy right? Never a dull day in the Palfrey family life!!
But anyway, some really amazing things have happened in the last few weeks!
Heidi's bump is ever-growing, now 27 weeks pregnant, it seems to be flying by yet we still have so much to do!! Heidi thinks it's dragging and wants to hijack my blog to tell you guys all the bad things about pregnancy haha!! Anyway, as standard, Woody has way too much stuff, half of which he probably doesn't need! We've got all the fun stuff, but all the boring stuff we're yet to buy....! But we're getting there, we have the pennies and we know what we want and need, but we need to wait until we're back in the house to store it.
However stressful this month has been it has been beautiful too. Woody is getting stronger, we can see his kicks ripple across Heidi's belly! Heidi has experienced her first ever rib jab....It was painful, God knows how she'll cope with labour!! And Woody loves to sleep right in Heidi's pelvis so she can't walk or move in general haha! But, what's been truly amazing, is, if I put my ear on Heidi's bump I can hear Woody's heartbeat in amongst Heidi's excessive wind movements, but seriously, it's truly incredible! He's also given us a fright or two as well. The night after our wedding we got home, into bed, and realised we hadn't felt him move all day....We prodded and poked, shone light on her bump to try and wake him. I had his little body in the palms of my hands moving him around Heidi's womb....It was truly terrifying....!! But being a Palfrey, and being Heidi's son....He's just a sleeping beauty! After a frightening hour, ready to call the midwife, he kept Heidi awake all night to get back at us for throwing him around ;) but it was acceptable this night!
We've been shopping....Many times being female. But we went shopping for Woody's bedroom, because he has one now!! The builders have decorated/will be decorating the house all neutral. We've had lots of say but not a lot of say in the build at the same time. So we decided to go shopping for Woody's room decor! We originally wanted a safari room, but, we walked down the wallpaper aisle and found this really cool cloud wallpaper!! It looks better than it sounds, trust me! Now Heidi wants to put artificial grass on the floor for him haha is that even possible?! It was truly lovely, we're going to buy some wooden letters and put his name on the wall too! It's so exciting! And even though I feel like it's passing so fast with everything that;s going on....I still can't wait!!
We've also been Holiday shopping! Even though is been an exciting time with the wedding and home renovations, it's been super stressful! And we've postponed the honeymoon because we want to go exploring with Woody there too. So we've booked and babymoon! We're just going on a short holiday to Greece!! It'll be lovely to get away and relax! And Heidi is craving some sunshine, even though her ginger sun-repellent skin will regret it after 5 minutes!!
We have a midwife appointment Thursday, Heidi needs to get her fit-to-fly paperwork from the doctors and we have another 4D scan in the evening! I cannot wait until he's born to see him again! 20 weeks plus, is way too long! Besides, he covered his face in the previous 4D scan, and at the 20 week scan she said she wasn't 100% sure he was a he at all! So all the more reason to go! We've bought everything for a boy! My mum did that with me after she guessed I was a boy because she carried differently from my sister, and after all that I ended up lesbian, so close enough right?! Haha! Kidding! But seriously 4D scans are amazing, I fully recommend them, and in this one they estimate birth weight....Heidi is 5"3 and so petite but her dad was a 10lb baby so this could be interesting....Heidi's so rubbish with pain! But we shall see!!
Only 13 weeks to go!!! :D
